“Sai Darshan” is an unique Seva Kshetra( Mandir) in the Bangalore Central District. The uniqueness is probably due to the fact that it is the only Seva Kshetra visited by Swami every year he came to Bangalore ( Brindavan) from 1988 to 2002. In fact Bhagwan took very much interest during the construction stages of the ground floor and also later when the upstairs hall(Eswaramma Hall) was built. He used to drop in unannounced during construction times.HE even reviewed the Plan for the building and selected the tiles too. Indiranagar Samithi carries on all its activities from this premises.
There is a granite pedestal near the Altar in the ground floor hall of the Mandir on which Bhagwan’s feet are carved . Bhagawan graciously stood on it and consecrated in 1988. From that day till today lady active workers have been doing Pooja for this granite pedestal continuously for the past 27 years every day without fail.
The Seva Kshetra has several Spiritual, Service,Educational and Youth activities.
“Spiritual activities” include daily Omkaram and Suprabhatam,Bhajans and poojas, talks by eminent devotees in a programme called “Sakshatkara”, bhajan training, Veda Chanting etc.
Among the “Service activities” the most sacred one is the monthly Narayana Seva, where in the food cooked by Mandir ladies in the premises itself is served to over 300 Narayanas, on last Sunday of the month. National Narayana Seva is also done twice a month for over 20 destitute families in our SSSSVIP villages and few nearby slums.
Weekly medical camp is run in the Seva Kshetra premises. Doctors attend to 30 to 40 patients who are provided medicines and whenever required minor treatments are provided in the near by hospitals.
Out reach service activities include visits to Hospice, Old age homes, Remand homes etc.
Young adults take up service activities such as running medical camps, Veda chanting and Bhajan training in SSSVIP Villages in addition to participation in regular bhajans,Narayana Seva etc.in the Mandir.
Under “Educational activities” around 100 children from age group between 5 to 16 (Std I to Std XII) from economically backward families are provided daily tuition in all subjects. Around 20 teaching staff serve in this prrogramme. On arrival for the tuition, children are given a glass of hot milk and Sai Protein or Buns. These children are also taught slokas, bhajans and they even have taken part in Skits presented before Bhagwan during HIS annual visit to the Seva Kshetra. Some of these children did extremely well in studies and joined professional courses like Chartered Accountancy or Engineering.
Bal Vikas classes are conducted twice weekly.
This “Seva Kshetra is “Bhagawan’s gift to entire humanity. Devotees, members and active workers who visit the Mandir daily get immense joy and peace.
