By the Grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi Project was inaugurated in Mangaluru on 5-June-2016. A stage program was arranged to formally announce inaugaration of the project in Higher Primary School, Gandhi Nagar, Mangaluru. The programme started with chanting of veda by the 7 girls of the school balvikas children. This was followed by lighting of lamp by District President of Dakshina Kannada Sri M. Padmanabha Pai, State Ladies Seva Co-ordinator Smt Priya P Pai, District Gents Seva Co-ordinator Sri Chandrashekar Nayak, H.O.D of Dental Department Yenopoya Hospital and an Alumni of Gandhinagar School Dr. Ganesh Shenoy, Eye specialist from K.M.C Dr. Shamitha, Dakshina Kannada District Balavikas Co-ordinator Smt Amba Holla, District Gents Youth Co-ordinator Sri Niranjan Hebbar, National Committee Think Tank Member Smt Sai Prasanna and Headmistress of Gandhinagar School Smt Yashoda.

Sri M Padmanabha Pai gave an introductory talk about Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi Project taken up by Sri Sathya Seva Organisations, India to involve youths in bringing up overall development of adopted school. Dr Ganesh Shenoy expressed his happiness to be present as an alumni of the same school for the project. He made the children of the school to take oath in stopping usage of tobbaco at home and neighbour hood. Sri Niranjan Hebbar and Smt Sai Prasanna gave detailed discription of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi Project. Mangala Arathi was offered to Bhagawan before starting the Medical Camp.

Medical Camp
Timings : 10.30 to 1.00 pm
Venue : Gandhinagar School

As part of the project, Medical Camp (General and Dental) was organized in the school premisis for the children, parents and public. Doctors and staff from Yenepoya and K.M.C hospital diagonised and suggested medication for the patients. Sri Suresh Byndoor took the lead to organize Medical Camp, with full support from Gents and Ladies Sevadal.

Around 120 people (children and parents) were benefitted by the medical camp. There were 55 patients for Dental, 55 patients for Eyes. Spectacles where given free of cost for 30 patients. Prescribed Medicines were distributed free of cost for 34 patients. 6 patients were requested to visit hospital for further check up.

Along with this Ladies youths conducted balvikas activities for children which involved guided visualization, bhajans, mono acting on the theme ‘Swaccha Bharath’, role play on the theme ‘Mathru Devo Bhava’ by samithi balvikas children, teaching balvikas anthem. Swami showed His presence by snapping garland, just before starting activities for the children.

As the activies were going on in Gandhinagar school, few of Gents Youth and Lady voluteers took part in cleaning work at another adopted government school, Sri Jnyanodaya Primary School at Hoige Bazaar, Mangaluru as part of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi Project.

Umbrella were distributed to school children at Hoige Bazaar school.

On earlier Thursday 2nd June, note books were distributed to children of the Sri Jnyanodaya Primary School at Hoige Bazaar. State Ladies Seva Co-ordinator Smt Priya P Pai, National Committee Think Tank Member Smt Sai Prasanna, District Gents Youth Co-ordinator Sri Niranjan Hebbar, Mangaluru Samithi Convernor Sri Jagadish Shet and Lady youth Smt Sindhu Umesh distributed the note books.
