With the Divine blessings of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the fifth edition of the Sri Sathya Sai Veda Poshana Workshop was conducted at Satya Sai Seva Kshethra, Ballary on 4th and 5th March 2017.

The central theme of the workshop was Sri Rudram Namakam. The participants included reputed Veda Gurus, certified Veda trainers, aspiring Veda trainers and all other aspirants desirous of learning Veda/Rudram. The participants were taught various aspects that included an awareness on the science behind the Vedas, awareness on the deep and subtle inner significance of the Sri Rudram and finer aspects of teaching Sri Rudram.

Proceedings of Workshop on 4th March 2017

The first day of the workshop was targeted at improving the chanting skills of chanters. Around 70 participants including gents Mahilas and Balvikas Gurus attended.

The workshop commenced with the Lighting of the Lamp and invocation of the Grace of Bhagwan.

Shri Rajkumar, DP Ballary workshop coordinator welcomed the gathering and dwelled on the purpose and roadmap for Sri Sathya Sai Veda Poshana Program of the Sri Sathya Sai Organizations Karnataka.

Next  eminent Vedic Scholar and manager, SSSIHMS shri DV Chandrashekar Sir, addressed the gathering with a powerful narrative on Bhagwan’s mission of Veda Poshana and stressing on how Veda chanting and teaching elevates the consciousness of the seeker. He also delivered a treatise on Sanskrit grammar and the anatomy of the sound production in humans.

The second talk was by Mrs Bharathi Rao, Vedam Guru from Bangalore who spoke on how Vedas are not limited to cast, creed, or gender. She stressed on why Vedas must be learnt by Mahilas and BV gurus in particular.

After the two exhilarating talks, the participants were split for technical breakout sessions. All chanters were divided into smaller groups and had correction sessions with GURUS and certified trainers of SSSSO Karnatak

The proceedings of the first day came to a close with Mahamangalaaarthi to Bhagwan.

Proceedings of 5th March 2017

The second day of the workshop focused on new aspirants wishing to learn Vedam. About 100 participants including new aspirants and chanters participated in the deliberations.

The proceedings of the day commenced with invocations and prayers to most beloved Bhagwan seeking HIS continuous guidance for taking HIS avataric mission forward.

Shri Rajkumar DP Ballari welcomed the asiprants and urged them to dedicate time and energy in the pursuit of the spiritual wisdom contained in the VEDAS.

Shri Praveena, Faculty member Sri Sathya Sai Primary School, Prasanthinilayam campus addressed the aspirants and assured them of Bhagwan’s infinte love for the Vedas especially focusing on the healing aspect of the Vedas through interesting anecdotes from his own life.

Following Sir’s talk, Brothers Bharghav and Ganesh from Prashanthi Nilayam delivered the Vedam learning session for new aspirants stressing on the fundamentals like Alpa Prana, MahaPrana, intonations, Chandas or Meter etc.

In a Parallel track, chanters in small groups  received corrections from Gurus and certified trainers of SSSSO Karnata

The workshop resumed after lunch with an interesting dumb charade competition based on Vedas chaired by Sri Ganesh and Sri Bhargav. The event covered various aspects on general knowledge of the Vedas and was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.

The Gurus also identified about 9 chanters from the Ballary unit for further training through internet and other mediums, with the prayer that these chanters may be skilled to become future certified trainers of the SSSSO Karnataka.

 

The workshop concluded with Vote of Thanks by Ballari Samithi members  followed by Mahamangalarthi to Bhagwan.
