By Bhagwan’s grace the 2nd Sri Sathya Sai Veda Poshana workshop was held at Brindavan on Sunday, 26th June.

The workshop was blessed with the participation of eminent Vedic scholars from the Sri Sathya Sai Institutions at Prashanthi Nilayam and Brindavan, the SSSSO, Karnataka and also the society at large.

Following the prayerful invocation to our dear Lord, and lighting of the lamp by eminent Vedic Scholar Shri Nagraj and respected State President of SSSSO, brother Subbu welcomed the erudite gathering and recapitulated the objectives of the Veda Poshana initiative of the SSSSO, Karnataka i.e.

  1. Improve the quality of Veda chanting of all chanters.
  2. Increase the number of proficient chanters.
  3. Increase the number of certified Veda trainers who can impart high quality Veda training to aspirants and other members of the SSSSO.
  4. Encourage and facilitate new aspirants to commence Veda learning.
  5. Understand the importance of Veda Mantras and practice them in our daily lives.

Following the welcome address, chanters proceeded to one of three Guru panels at Trayee Brindavan lawns, for a formal evaluation of their strengths and weakness from the perspective of skills, aptitude and knowledge required to become Veda Poshana trainers of the SSSSO. The chanters also got a unique opportunity to interact individually with Veteran Gurus on the subtleties of Veda chanting.

An exhilarating  talk on Vedas by Dr Ravikumar Sir, Warden of the Brindavan campus of SSSIHL energized all the participants of the parallel track at Kalyanamantap and motivated them to pursue Vedic studies with sincerity, fervor and dedication.

A collaborative exercise involving all the participants was facilitated by Dr S Srirangarajan, Director SSSIHL, Brindavan campus and Shri Sundar Anantharaman, District President, Bangalore west of the SSSSO, Karnataka with the objective of charting the course of action for propagating Vedas in the SSSSO, Karnataka.

In the afternoon, a spirited Veda team chanting competition amongst the 5 Bangalore districts was witnessed. Facilitated by brother Bharghav of SSSIHL, Prashanthi Nilayam campus and brother Ganesh of Radio Sai, Prashanthi Nilayam, this unique event saw a fierce neck to neck competition while highlighting the importance and nuances of excellence in group chanting.

Swami blessed all workshop participants with a special chanting opportunity at HIS lotus feet in Trayee Mandir. This was followed by the Sri Sathya Sai Veda Poshana certification and awards ceremony. The workshop concluded with Mahamangala Aarthi to Bhagwan.  Jai Sairam.
