Briefly:

Guru Purnima was celebrated on Sunday, 9th July 2017, in Indiranagar Samithi, (Sai Darshan), Bangalore.

The morning session included Omkaram, Suprabhatam and routine Pooja by ladies to the Charan consecrated by Bhagwan during His visits to Sai Darshan. 

The evening programme commenced with Veda Chanting from 5.15pm to 5.45pm followed by Bhajans from 6.00pm to 6.40pm.

Talk by Chief guest and Awards distribution:

Sai Darshan conducts daily Tuition classes for under privileged Children from nearby Slums. Every year during Guru Purnima day, the toppers of X and XII standard in this tuition programme  are recognized and awards given. This year too FIVE students who passed their 10th Standard with good marks were honoured and were awarded with cash prizes.

Sri. VV Bhaskar, DG IGP (Retd) Karnataka, was the Chief Guest of the evening. He shared his experiences which he called “Divine Encounters” during decades of his association with Bhagwan, some of them personal, how  Swami’s Kerchiefs he had, saved two sick person’s lives and the challenges faced by him in providing high security to Swami during Bhagawan’s visit to Brindavan and especially to Sai Darshan. He explained the significance of Guru Purnima and recollected the contribution of various devotees of Indiranagar Samithi to the Sai Movement in Indiranagar and more in particular in Sai Darshan.

Aarathi was offered to Bhagawan at 7.40pm followed by Prasada Viniyogam.

The programme was very well attended with more than 250 devotees participating.
