We are happy to inform that on May 21st, 2016 Buddha Purnima was observed in Bengaluru South with a combined Nagarasankirthana, starting from Sri Siddhi Maha Ganapathi temple in 7th Block West, Jayanagara, Bengaluru. Our Banashankari 2nd Stage Samithi, which is nearly 3 decades old, had taken the lead role in organising this event.
After lighting of Jyothi by Sri Venkat Gosavi Sir, VP, Sri Sai Chandrashekhar Sir, District President of South District, Dr.H S Aswath Sir, Convenor of Sai Gitanjali, Smt. Basanti Das, Smt. Gowri Venkat and others, the programme started with 21 Omkars, Suprabhatham, Veda chanting followed by Bhajans in the residential locality of this area. There were two separate groups for Bhajans for ladies and gents.
Many units of the South District participated. Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Sai Gitanjali, Padmanabhanagara, Thyagarajanagar and other units took part. There were nearly 90 people who participated which attracted the attention of the residents and the public. Last year also this activity was held on 3-May-2016 – Buddha Purnima day.
Sri Venkat Gosavi Sir, Sri Sai Chandrashekhar Sir and Convenor Sri V R Muralidhar Sir offered Aarathi to Swamy to conclude the programme.
