Makara Sankramana was celebrated on Saturday, 14th January at Sri Sathya Sai Seva Kshethra, Gandhinagar, Mannagudda, Mangalore.
The programme commenced with Omkar, Suprabhath and Nagarsankirthan at 5:00 am in the morning.
This was followed by Prashanthi Flag hoisting at 6:15 am.
From 10:00 am to 11:00 am Sri Sathya Sai Ashthothara Vibhuthi archana was performed.
Veda chanting was done from 11:00 am to 11:15 am followed by Bhajans from 11:15 am to 12:00 noon.
Annual report was presented by the convener from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.
Then District President of Dakshina Kannada Sri M Padmanabha Pai gave talk of guidance and announced new office bearers. This concluded with Arathi to Bhagawan and distribution of prasadam.
Around 250 devotees attended the function.
Along with this, food was distributed to 400 people at various old age and orphanages, namely Sri Shraddanand Seva Ashram, Samvedana home for children, Balikashram, Bhagini Samaj, Ishwaranand Ashram.
In the evening from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, buttermilk was distributed at Sri Manjunatheswar temple, Kadri on the occasion car festival. Nearly 4000 devotees quenched their thirst from the seva.
